Step Inside our Seaview Residence.

We take a closer look at our Seaview Residence project to provide insight into our decision-making, what led and inspired us and the goals we aimed to achieve in this residential interior design project in Dublin.

We worked collaboratively with the client and the Architect Tony Mullen so that our collective ideas for this home merged seamlessly.

Open Plan Kitchen & Living Area

A blank canvas and uninterrupted sea views, any interior designer’s dream! The client’s wish was to reflect the sea with cool blue tones in this space. As we know, the sea in Ireland can be quite chilling so we needed to make sure this living space was welcoming, warm and cosy. This is the home's main hub and as such we needed to create a welcoming, relaxing environment. We were able to achieve that through careful consideration of layout and furniture, and by layering natural materials to create warmth and interest. Warm solid oak of the beautifully crafted Carl Hansen sideboard, soft boucle on the Colonial lounge chairs, wool and luxurious silk in the cc-tapis rug ensure a comfortable experience. The pendant light is made with mother-of-pearl shells which gently tinkle in the breeze so the client can relax and watch the waves come in!

Dining Room

Our goal for this period dining room was to achieve a balance of interest and elegance. It has a level of intimacy that is unique in this property, most of the rooms in this home have a seaview aspect in some way, so our goal was to make this space a bit of a ‘retreat’ to enjoy good food and company long into the night. The Knoll dining chairs, dubbed as ‘the most comfortable chairs in the world!’ ensure guests can relax in comfort all evening long. The client had some wonderful Japansese artwork which informed the décor in here. Soft blue hues and natural timber elements were delicately integrated throughout the property, maintaining a sense of cohesion, but we introduced rich greens in the Lizzo curtain fabric. Textured oriental wallpaper, warm walnut in the De La Espada dining table, brass in the Catellani & Smith pendant light, and glossy lacquer with bronze and gold accents for added layers of depth.

Music Room

Capturing the essence of tranquillity and serenity, our client sought a calming atmosphere for their sea-facing music room, overlooking the majestic Irish Sea. With panoramic views as the focal point, we embraced simplicity in furnishings, letting the natural beauty outside speak for itself. To evoke warmth and comfort, we adorned the space with tactile elements like sheepskin, velvet, and marble, along with interesting paintings and sculptures from Belisarius Art, creating a cosy haven to unwind in.

Primary Bedroom

Creating a relaxing atmosphere was a top priority. We achieved this by utilising a neutral palette, luxurious finishes and natural textures throughout the space. By keeping the colour scheme soft and understated, we allowed the sea view to be the room's main focal point. This creates a sense of tranquility and maximises the breathtaking view our clients can enjoy from their primary bedroom. The use of luxurious textures such as cashmere in the Christian Fischbacher bed throw, brass accents on the CTO lighting and cosy sheepskin on the Gubi Stay lounge chair add a feeling of indulgence to the space. Our bespoke curtains are made using Lizzo Bennett fabric which drapes beautifully. Additionally, incorporating natural materials like walnut on the De La Espada Classon bedside chest, wool carpeting from Wool Classics and pure cotton in the White Company bed linen added elements of nature into the room, further enhancing its calming effect. Our thoughtful design approach aimed to create a harmonious balance between luxury and simplicity.
