To Milan, With Love.

Milan, the beating heart of Europe's design centre.
This week we were due to fly there for the annual Salone del Mobile.
The Furniture Fair is the largest trade fair of its kind in the world and showcases the latest in furniture and design from countries around the world. It's our favourite time of the year!
The exhibition has appropriately been cancelled this year but as we keep our wonderful Italian suppliers and friends in our minds at this difficult time, (and of course all the other international brands too) we take a look back at last years inspirational fair.

Check out some of our favourite moments from last years Salone....

Meridiani - Always stylish, refined and contemporary.
Gervasoni - Organic yet sophisticated with a touch of Mediterranean laid back cool!
Davide Groppi - Sleek & polished Italian lighting company.
All three companies are part of Italian Design Brands Group, who we are very proud to be partners with.

Moooi always put on a unique, playful and inspiring exhibition and last year in the Milano Brera district was no different.

The best party (and stunning design of course) goes to cc-tapis!
cc-tapis is an Italian company who produce contemporary hand-knotted rugs which are created in Nepal by expert Tibetan artisans.
The Rug Invaders collection from cc-tapis released during the Salone last year is 'An inter-galactic, shape-shifting army of contemporary hand-knotted rugs! Also seen above is the exquisite round Feathers rug by Maarten de Ceulaer. Enchanting and absorbing compositions inspired by birds.

Studio Pepe exhibition “Les Arcanistes” was 'an investigation into the interconnection between matter and the archetypal power of symbols'. It featured much of our favourite furniture such as the sculptural Clay table from Desalto and playful hand-crafted stools from Pulpo. ''Though the future is un-written, the answers already lie within us''
